2021 Round-up
Thank you to all our
customers & suppliers in 2021
As we look towards 2022, we send our best wishes to all of our partners, customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
2020 and 2021 have presented many challenges and very real concerns to many of us. For JCS, we have embraced the opportunity for change, laying foundations for innovation and planning for growth.
Overall, 2021 has been a very strong year for JCS and our partners.
Successes
JCS won and started a significant design-to-manufacture defence contract. This project project has created a great opportunity to form an SME consortium, comprising of fellow SRP affiliate Gemini Technologies and long-standing partner, Radiation Measurement Technology. As a team, we have been working towards this project success since 2017. We are excited to have made a start in 2021 and look forward to its delivery in 2022.
Always striving to push innovation, we are delighted with the success of our RMS30 platform high dose rate probes used in POCO (Post Operative Clean Out) Decommissioning at Sellafield which are consistently measuring >150 sV/hr dose rates. This is significant data for the POCO teams at Sellafield…(read more)
These are exciting times!
Challenges
We have had a strong focus on Digital Transformation throughout 2021, welcoming a new IT management team and achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification, a vital qualification to reassure our stakeholders of our high levels of IT security.
We have also implemented a new CRM and MRP system which has streamlined all aspects of production management, customer service, sales and purchasing; freeing up time to focus on our customers’ and suppliers’ success.
Following Brexit, we have appointed an Authorised Representative to ensure that our CE marked instrumentation remain CE compliant, this is an important step to support our EU distributors and provide peace of mind to our customers throughout Europe. Our CE marked instrumentation now also comply with the UKCA standard.
Some of our R&D projects have been slowed by the Covid pandemic, which has had a significant and impact on the global supply chain for electronic components. We monitor this on a daily basis and communicate with our stakeholders as often as we need to. Fortunately, we are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, and are optimistic for a much more normal 2022.
Team News
We bid a happy retirement to our long-serving company accountant, Dawn Haley. Dawn has been with JCS for 25 years and has been instrumental in helping guide the company through the peaks and troughs of day to day business. We will miss Dawn but are delighted she now has time to relax and enjoy her retirement!
Best wishes to all:
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
